The mission of Sacred Sistahs is to empower, serve, and improve the overall health, well-being, spirit, and vitality of African American and African women and children by nourishing and elevating the mind, body, and spirit.
Sacred Sistahs, Inc. leadership brings a host of experience in teaching, training, programming, researching and publishing in educational issues germane to Black students as members of the Tehuti Educational Consortium. Sacred Sistahs, Inc. is an organization founded to empower, serve, and improve the overall health and well-being of women and children. Since 2004, Sacred Sistahs, Inc. has conducted rites of passage programs and provided mentorship to young women in the Inland Empire to inspire and promote self esteem, self concept, and affirmation. Several of the topics include culturally relevant historical lessons, health and well-being, perceptions of beauty, relationships, and valuing the body through an ongoing process of nourishing and elevating the spirit, mind, and body.
Tonia R. Causey-Bush, Ph.D., President/CEO
As the founder of Sacred Sistahs, Inc., Tonia has also provided community service in Oakland, CA, across the Inland Empire as the Assistant Director of the Imani Saturday Academy in Pomona, CA, as a big sister at the Delmann Heights Boys and Girls Club in San Bernardino, CA, and to the community of Lubbock, Texas. She has has over 18 years experience in public K-16 education having taught elementary school students in New York, California, and Texas and was selected for a Fulbright Memorial Fund Teacher Award to visit Japan. Tonia has a Ph.D. in Human Development and Quantitative Research from Claremont Graduate University, a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Teachers College, Columbia University, a second Masters in Educational Administration from Cal State San Bernardino, and a Bachelors in Anthropology from UC Berkeley. Tonia is currently a principal in the Fontana Unified School District. She is also a published author, a wife of 14 years to Dr. Lawson Bush, V, and mother to two daughters, Chioma Agyei and Thandiwe Deliza, and one son, Lawson "Heru" Bush, VI.
Akua Maat,Vice President

Akua is a certified clinical hypnotherapist with Maat Hypnosis. Akua earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications: Public Relations and a certificate in Event Planning from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. She also went on to earn certification in Clinical Hypnotherapy-Balanced Energies in Temecula, CA. She is a member of several professional organizations including the National Guild of Hypnotists, the American Holistic Health Association, the International Association of Reiki Practitioners, the American Hypnosis Association, and the International Association of Black Yoga Teachers. She has studied and received holistic training in beginning acupressure, in cranioSacral balancing, aromatherapy, stress management, yoga, meditation, reflexology, and as a Reiki Master Teacher Trainer. She has received additional business training sales and marketing, diversity in the workplace, and ethics. She is married to Dr. Ahmses Maat and is the mother to Alexia, Andrea, Gye Nyame and Mnsa.
Jenise Earl-Bush, Secretary

Minister Jenise Bush is the Founder of Powerful, Praying, Wives, Incorporated (PPW). Led by the Holy Spirit PPW was formed in 1999. Powerful, Praying, Wives mission is to support and strengthen the daily lives of wives in an effort to promote spiritual, loving and healthy families. The group does not chat, eat or give advice but uses Prayer as a tool enhance the daily lives of wives. PPW holds an Annual Wives’ Conference and wives have been delivered and blessed in their relationships with their husbands. Mrs. Bush has been married to Rev. Dr. Edward Bush for 14 years, and they have two beautiful children, Nia and Khari. Mrs. Bush holds a Master of Science in Educational Counseling along with a PPS Credential; Master of Arts in Education along with an Administrative Credential and is currently working on her doctoral degree at the University of La Verne. She has been employed with the Rialto Unified School District for the past 10 years serving in the capacity of teacher, counselor, and district level administrator.

Jerilyn Boykin is a Customer Insight Analyst with the Neiman Marcus Group. She received her BS in Mathematics graduating Magna Cum Laude from Texas Tech University in 2004 and her MS in Statistics from Southern Methodist University in 2006.
